*Palm to face* This is the dumbest boycott of all time! 

Disagreement does not equal hate. It seems like when Christians want to try to uphold what the Bible teaches we are the ones that experience hate. If you don’t believe me google “Chick-Fil-A” and listen/read the comments from various people, Christian and non-Christian, from across the United States. Newsflash: IT’S NOT ABOUT HATING PEOPLE, IT’S ABOUT UPHOLDING GOD’S PLAN FOR MARRIAGE. IT’S ALSO NOT ABOUT MARRIAGE. IT’S ABOUT SIN IN GENERAL…THIS MEANS GOSSIPING, SEX OUTSIDE OF MARRIAGE, GLUTTONY, SLANDER, HATE, IDOLATRY, ADULTERY, AND SO MUCH MORE!!!!!

^^^^Yes, I was yelling those which are in all caps. It think people feel like Christians are specifically targeting gay marriage. There are 50 million other sins in the Bible. This one, for whatever reason, along with abortion (that’s another blog, for another day), just seems to continue to make the headlines.

My relationship with God and my stance on marriage (among other things in the Bible) are not to make any human happy. It is to bring GLORY TO GOD….if that is not your name then your opinions, your feelings and your comments do not matter!

It is far more than just being about marriage. I don’t support sex outside of marriage, gluttony, gossip and a number of other things. Do I “hate” the people who participate in these things? No. “Love God. Love People. Hate Sin.” Plain and simple.

I also struggle with some of these things, but nonetheless I do not support them, because I know that they are nothing more than my own carnal desires. My flesh. My sin. And they are not pleasing to my heavenly Father. These are things that many of us, including myself, will probably struggle with until Christ returns, but still, they are things that I DO NOT SUPPORT, much like anything that contradicts God’s plan for marriage. If you want to know what “God’s plan for marriage” is then you can go straight to Genesis 2:18-25 and Ephesians 5:22-33. Man and Woman. “Be fruitful and multiply”.

The things that contradict this are clearly called sin in the Bible (Romans 1:26-27). But as I said before, sin is sin! So this also includes:

“unrighteousness, evil, covetousness, malice. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, maliciousness. They are gossips, slanderers, haters of God, insolent, haughty, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents, foolish, faithless, heartless, ruthless.” (Romans 1:29-31). You can also read more in Galatians 5:19-21….

As soon as a Christian actually takes a stance simply saying that they are for God’s plan for marriage, people automatically want to call that a “homophobic” or a “bigot” or “hate”. NO!! It is our relationship with our Holy GOD and His perfect plan, which is far more important than sinful people’s feelings. I’m including myself in the category or sinful because it is clearly written “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23).

So, there are things that the Bible calls sin that don’t exactly make me happy either, but that’s because I am not God. I am innately sinful, and most of the things that “feel” good to me are sinful. Point. Blank. Period. Does that mean I indulge and just denounce the Bible or anyone who tries to uphold it? As a Christian, no.In fact, as a Christian if I’m comfortable with or support ANYTHING (whether I participate in it or not) that contradicts the Word of God, I’ve got some serious problems that I need to deal with. 

Nonetheless, I don’t care what the president’s stance is or how many people want to boycott Chick-Fil-A. Bottom line is I serve God. Not man. GOD! If His Word says something is wrong/sin/unholy then that is what I believe. If that “something” is something you are a part of please do not be quick to throw around words like “hate” or “bigot”. Trust me, I’m far from that, but as I stated earlier, disagreement does not equal hate. My beliefs and my choice to serve God is so far beyond you.
